As a small growing startup, we're always moving fast to ship you new features! Unfortunately that also means we tend to run into bugs. We launched a Custom CSS input box to customize the styling of your designs. Please use with caution and consult your developer. Help doc here.
We added guidance on using the above in the information bubble.
We debugged an issue with Banner A and B swapping order in A/B Testing.
We debugged an issue with the X in Pop Ups showing outside the box. See Bug Report for details.
We debugged issues with site visitor geolocation targeting. Now resolved.
We debugged an issue with the Publish button inside the editor that was incorrectly disabled even after selecting Products. See Bug Report for details.
We debugged Saved Brand Colors showing the wrong color when entering a hex code.

We now provide guidance on image upload for Pop Ups inside the app. Images should be smaller than 1MB.
We now offer the ability to select the order in which your Banners stack on top of each other. See advanced settings in the Design section.

Here’s your guide to starting your first A/B Test

1. Prepare your Banners. Next, make sure you have at least 1 Banner ready to test. You may choose to test one banner versus no banner to understand the impact of adding Because. Or you may choose to test one banner versus another - in which case you'll need two :)

I know you're probably thinking… what the heck do I test, so here are a few ideas to get you started:

You can test:

📝 Messaging (tone, voice, short/long, fun/serious, etc.)
🎨 Visuals (colors, fonts, icons, layout)
💲 Discount types ($ or %)
🌱 Types of content (shipping versus promotion, review versus give back)

Here are more ideas on types of content you can test:

🎄 Holiday promotions just for the day, week, or month
🎁 New product releases
🐑 Product ingredients, materials, & how it's made
🌎 Give back, social mission, sustainability, or charity

When should you use the custom CSS input inside the Because editor?

We recommend only using this when

You have a developer or technical person on your team who knows how to code (or maybe that's you!)
You've already confirmed the change you're trying to make isn't possible without code. Feel free to consult our chat team which is available 24/7.
You want to make a stylistic change that requires code, like putting icons next to each other rather than on opposite ends of the Banner.

How do I use the custom CSS input?

Go in to edit one of your Designs in Because (Banners, Pop Ups, or Top Bars).
Once you're inside the Editor, click the 'Design' section. Then expand 'Advanced Settings' to see more options.
